Masha Orlov is a first generation Russian-American, born and raised in the NYC area. She went to study art and French in Paris, where she ended up living for 8 years. There, she started her career in fashion working as a stylist, editor and consultant. As a little girl, Masha always had a passion for fashion. She has worked with some of her favorite designers such as Jeremy Scott, Christian Lacroix, Jean Charles de Castelbaljac and Issey Miyake, and her favorite magazines Purple Fashion and Self Service. More of her work can be seen via her agency, CREATIVE EXCHANGE.
LEFT: This chick is awesome! I love her layering of an oversized coat on a denim jacket. Her hair, make-up, as well as her rolled-up pants and red sneakers are 100% on point. And then the way the printed scarf is tucked into the belt creates pure perfection.
RIGHT: I love the way girls dress in Paris -- so cool, feminine and fun. The white summer dress with sports socks and faux fur is fabulous. I love the other girl too, with her baggy cardigan, exaggerated coat and blue gloves. Very charming mademoiselles!
HIM: Pablo Olea is one of my fashion icons. His look here is very casual, but it has so much life. The Jeremy Scott cardigan and Junya Watanabe for Converse sneakers are perfect basics with lots of personality. And I love the necklace and extra long belt -- muted tone accesories for an added kick.
HER: Another cool, fun and feminine look in Paris -- I love her combo of plaid shirt, baroque bell skirt and denim jacket, giving me a very classy, tomboy vibe. And then the added bonuses of great accessories : tie die socks and maroon combat boots on heel.
LEFT: This dude looks like a superstar. Very Klaus Nomi out of this world classic. And I love his clutch -- that's what got me. I want one of those.
RIGHT: Jason Farrer is another of the best international style makers. Here her is looking very professional on the go in his chic 2 button suit and luxuriously long coat. The leopard print undershirt and key accessories make this serious outfit look playful, and the pants tucked into combat type boots give a hardcore edge.
VIKA LEFT: A classic silhouette, looking so modern and very chic with all the discreet detailing. The tones and texturing are beautiful and harmonious. I love her cream structured wool hat, tortoise shell sunglasses, fur coat, patent quilted bag, sheer pantyhose to show a little skin and high heel booties, a very sophisticated combination.
VIKA RIGHT: Vika's look is totally amazing. There should be a modern day Eric Rohmer movie made about her as some romantic artist/secretary or psychiatrist trying to solve the the mysteries of love. Her color combo is sick! And with the minimal, beige coat to tone it down, perfect. I want her red patent heels- classic vintage gone sexy.
LEFT: Carrie Mundane is another present day style icon to me because she always has a cute, smart look on. She is the best at mixing bright patterns and colors. She even looks sexy in matching sneakers. AND the leather quilted bomber is awesome. I could go on forever....
RIGHT: Super cute simple yet chic look with a touch of nouveau grunge. I love the layering of the customized button down plaid giving a cape effect which spices everything up.
Thanks Masha!!
