Fred Perry Centenary Party -- That's 100 Years, Y'all! :

judah-friedlander.jpg>

World Champion, Judah Friedlander was on hand to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of
FRED PERRY at SPIN, a table tennis club in NYC. I guess it sorta makes sense, you know, Fred Perry... Tennis... And renting out Arthur Ashe centre court would have been a bit much... So yeah, they flew in The Friendly Fires to play a 6'ish song set. I hadn't heard them before, but I had sorta, in a way, since there were moments when I expected to hear a shriek of "SISTERRR SAVIOURRRR!!". I'm sure I'm not the first person to mention that, and I totally don't mean it as a criticism since I love The Rapture, but anyway, yeah. They were cute and fun though.

Also, Fred Perry had a bunch of installations of its style thru the decades and branded ping-pong tables, and a special (cocaine themed?) mirrored ones in the Fred Perry backroom. Oh, and Fred Perry swizzle sticks for the mixed drinks! Gin and tonics might have made more sense than margaritas, but hey, can't complain too much.
