Errrr, I think I've been a bit lazy about getting people to do their Street Peeper picks. It's been awhile, but here's a set from girl-about-town, Ilirjana Alushaj -- frontwoman of Brooklyn-based band APACHE BEAT and founder and editor of online counterculture magazine, THE POP MANIFESTO. Apache Beat has been all over Pitchfork, Nylon, NME, and the blogs. She also did backup vocals for The Rapture. You remember in that song "People Don't Dance No More" with the girls in the chorus going "whoo! alright! let's fall apart something-something something!" and "yeah! uh-huh! that's right!"? That was totally Ilirjana (and Lindsay Caldwell too).



Oh, and she's been on the cover of Jalouse Magazine and also been featured in Vogue, Elle, NYLON Japan, and is something of a muse for APRIL77 and Samantha Pleet. Anyway, here are her favorite Street Peeper pics:

LEFT: I'm from Australia, but I will support Martha in her "All American Lolita" any day of the week.
RIGHT: As much as its overused, I love people who can still wear plaid without offending me with boredom.
